From the time the ice moves out in Spring until the ice forms in late Fall or Winter, boaters will enjoy adventures on our lakes and rivers. When adventuring out in the colder conditions, there are a few extra precautions that you need to keep in mind.

Do you know what the 1-10-1 rule is? Do you have your reboarding device readily available?

Do you know the different ways for thermal protection to help prevent or delay the onset of Hypothermia?

Don’t be afraid to indulge in the splendour and peaceful solitude that Fall boating has to offer. Just find out and keep in mind the few cold water tips and prepare to build memories that will last till Spring thaw.
